|Bonaire from the Sea||
Up early preparing fresh food for the day's sail and caught this stunning sunrise over Kralendijk - this view never loses its enchantment. Bonaire really is a stunning, unspoiled place to live and visit and Dushi thinks so too...
AMORAY is looking wonderful, as always, in preparation for our first liveaboard guests of 2017. Rich is visible at the beginning of the video and is responsible for the background noise as he fills the water tanks! Nice guided tour if you fancy a day or a week with us!
Many thanks to Sue, Hannah, Rob and Alban for all the work. These guys are the unsung heroes of a boat charter business. Looking forward to a great week. Night all x
We've had a lot of rain recently so the plants have shot up around the Fuzzoids' favourite walking spots. Lots of lizards in them which is driving Theo bonkers. Can't catch them but he's trying hard with his new leaping tactic. Video doesn't quite do him justice but you get the idea. Very amusing to watch and he gets lots of excercise.
Have a great weekend one and all xx
Thanks to everyone who entered the Christmas Competition to name our new Smart car
Lots of great entries and the winner is Glenda with "Dory". Great name and good observational humour from the movie!!
We will get Hannah from Daisy Delights to contact you to make up your sign. Pictures will be posted once it is complete. Thanks again one and all and have a great weekend.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and let's hope all my Brexiteers, Mangoids, and normal folks have a wonderful 2017.
We have been crazily busy over the Christmas period. Victims of our own success it would appear. Great fun !!!
The Fuzzoids have not, however, been left out. Theo and Dushi went for a nice trip to the East Coast.
Theo really likes the idea of sailing but has a lot to learn as his ears are luffing like crazy. Luffing is basically flapping for you non nautical types.
We wish you all the best and will be blogging as much as possible in 2017. Also it would be great if everybody famous that I like would stop dying!
Night All xxx
Here's hoping all your Christmas plans are coming together in the cold lands of Brexitham and the strange shores of the Empire of the Mango Mussolini.
We have sold our truck and have decided to buy a different vehicle. We've had a great year and decided to splash out.
Here is the number plate (licence plate) of our new Mercedes Cabriolet!!!
Wow, I hear you say, have they gone for the delightful Mercedes 650??
Not quite. It's been a great first year and a big thanks to all our guests for that but the budget doesn't quite stretch to one of those. Instead I introduce you to our new business partner............ the Smart Cabriolet 😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
And so, dear readers, the Christmas competition is for you guys to come up with the best name for our new friend. A bespoke driftwood sign will be the fabulous first prize for the name we like best. Please feel free to involve your friends and get them to like our page.
To get you going my suggestion is Das Boot but Sue has vetoed that one 🙄
Please add your suggestions as a comment on the Facebook page and the winner will be announced just after Christmas. Thinking caps on and have fun! Night all x
Hello again my fellow Brexiteers and new members of the Mango Mussolini Madness.
It's been far too long since I wrote to you for which I can only apologise. Basically we've been crazy busy for which we only have ourselves to blame. Thanks to Sue, Rob, Glenda and all our lovely guests 👍.
Normal blogging service will resume and we are crazy busy again from Christmas Eve through March. Here is a picture of Sue and I being busy ........... Night all x
Evening all Brexiteers, Trumpists et al.
Had a busy few days with lots of great sailing and diving. Lovely people on AMORAY as usual! Nice to be able to sit on the terrace and reflect. Even the Fuzzoids are impressed 😀 (Dushi more so than Theo to be honest).
Night all .........
Hi all. Apologies for my absence. Been a little busy lately!
I have been reading Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan recently. A great book that I read over and over. I was just struck tonight by what a great way he has with words.
I know it may not make much sense out of context (so buy the book) but what a lovely use of language. Night all xx
October 22nd is my Mum's Birthday - Happy Birthday Mum. The plan was to ring her in the morning before we went out for our booked Twizy trip. Turtles interfered as usual with my wife Dr Sue getting a call on the STCB hotline to Te Amo beach for a possible nest. Duly found the new Hawksbill nest - great work team. I did leave a phone message though !
Had a great trip in the electric car - a Renault Twizy. Really fun and environmentally sound too !!
Very quiet which allowed us to sneak up on some local wildlife!
Then Sue got a phone call about a dead turtle at Plaza. Spent half an hour looking for it but not found. Sue thinks it was not really dead but either sleeping or eating. Then off to Playa Chikitu to find another Green Turtle nest and empty 2 further nests. STCB found 4 little guys trapped in the second nest who would have surely died. I helped in my role as an STCB volunteer to Get them out and watched them go off to sea.
Now all this meant that I didn't get to speak to Mum for long on her birthday but she understood and was really chuffed that the little Greens were saved by Sue and the rest of the STCB volunteers. Happy Birthday to Mum and the Turts!
